The various individuals listed here are considered elders of the E.S.S.G., and they are empowered to acknowledge the formation of local temples and dispense the more advanced lore of the Order. Each individual represents a locality or domain, and the seeker is invited to contact that person via email to begin the necessary dialog for future Order activity. The elders are the keepers of the lore and they determine legitimacy in regards to the chartering of local temples. Once an organization becomes a temple, vested with the full lore of the Order, then they are responsible to no one but themselves. We elders will never keep a list of individuals or temples reputed with egregious social infractions and scandalous behavior, but magicians have long memories and will tend to act upon them. The best approach is to be prudent when using magickal knowledge, and not to become a focus of attention to the press or local authorities - all such infractions and violations will be met with swift denials - such as “We do not acknowledge this fool as a member of our organization!” Hopefully, we may conduct our spiritual business in peace, privacy and sacred obscurity and anonymity. The magician walks amongst his peers, and they are ignorant of his knowledge, experiences, depth and acquired disciplines, so he walks in peace and blessed solitude. So Mote it Be.

A letter from the founder of the Order of the Gnostic Star

I have been practicing ritual magick for over thirty years, and have accumulated a great deal of knowledge and experience. In my personal grimoire and the grimoire of the Order are hundreds of rituals, ceremonies, workings and ordeals. These represent the cutting edge of the Art of Magick, the most up to date practices that reflect the Art as it exists in the 21st century. As a Mage, I am duty bound to present this information to those who are worthy, i.e., those who are willing to spend the time and effort to master this great Art. I have belonged to several occult organizations, been in Neopagan, Wiccan and Gnostic associations, and I have found that the knowledge and practice of ritual magick is dwindling. That is why this Order was founded back in the late 80's. I hope to end this slow slide into oblivion and revitalize the study and practice of magick. For magick is the Yoga of the Western Mystery Tradition, and is as relevant today as it ever was. Although the number of elders in the E.S.S.G is slight, I hope to increase their numbers. My interest is to aid the world as it evolves into the New Age, and not to become yet another boring seeker of glory or fame. I humbly share what I have learned and mastered with others, and I never exploit those who are seeking spiritual knowledge from me. What we have vested in this dedication and study of the Art of Magick is a sacred trust. Let all who truly desire to know and experience the power and majesty of the Magcik of the Absolute Spirit join ranks with me in fraternal and sororal solidarity. We acknowledge that each magician is his or her own universe of wisdom and spiritual knowledge, waiting to be discovered and utilized in peace and love.
